The Waterman Exception pen represents a technical triumph for the inventive minds at Waterman.  By combining creative daring with technical excellence, they have created the first quadrangled writing instrument.  This unique design has been produced using bespoke systems and techniques.  The squared shape of the barrel fits snugly in the hand transforming into a rounded shape to ensure perfect writing comfort.  Created in a large oversized model as well as a slimmer version, the Waterman Exception is available in black or blue lacquer, with 23crt gold-plated or silver-plated trim.  The exquisitely crafted Waterman Exception fountain pen nibs are 18crt solid gold and feature the Waterman 'ideal' and 'globe' hallmarks.  These symbols were found on the first fountain pen created by L.
