Limited Edition Pens | Black Infinity
M1000 Pelikan Black Infinity
Raden is a Japanese decorative technique. Working with pieces of Australian abalone shell the craftsperson creates a unique and distinctive striped fountain pen which is an impressive piece of art in itself. Each pen being crafted by hand and being truly unique from other examples. With this limited edition pen Pelikan have applied these Japanese decorative techniques to four hundred of its M1000 Pelikan Souveran fountain pens. The first step in creating the Pelikan Black Infinity fountain pen is to give the surface a black colour by applying a black Urushi lacquer. Then, by the application of metal powders the pen begins to sparkle from within the rich layers of Japanese lacquer. The rectangular stripes on the barrel and cap are pieces of mother of pearl which have been selected, cut and polished. On completion the pens are individually signed and numbered using the Maki-e technique (see the image above). The Pelikan Raden M1000 Black Infinity fountain pen is fitted with a large traditional open style 18k gold nib. Supplied in a Paulownia wood box which contains a booklet and numbered certificate.
A limited edition of 400 fountain pens fitted with a medium nib.
