Limited Edition Pens | Barbiere di Siviglia
Montegrappa Barbiere di Siviglia
To capture the spirit of Rossini’s opera, Montegrappa has used lost wax casting techniques to firstly make a silver overlay which has then been finished by hand. Decorating the cap of the Montegrappa Barbiere di Siviglia silver fountain pen is the famous scene from the opera, where Figaro with guitar in hand, appears beneath the balcony of Don Bartolo’s house, singing the most famous aria of the opera, "Largo al Factotum”. The cap top is embellished with a silver azulejo, the distinctive Andalusian tile that decorates many buildings in Seville. To represent the sky Montegrappa have used blue celluloid. The same blue colour being applied as highlights on the silver overlay. The 18k two tone nib, is engraved with a likeness of a arched window, representing the window from which Rosina listens to Count Almaviva’s heartfelt serenade.
Each fountain pen in this limited edition from Montegrappa comes in a gift box that evokes shapes, colors and scenes from the opera. The white of Seville’s old buildings, the famous colonnade of the Alcazar courtyard and the azulejo tile decorates the top of the gift box.
