In 1934 the Yard O Led Pencil Company Ltd was founded by Ludwig Brenner after he had patented an improved version of the propelling pencil that could hold 12 three inch leads - a yard of pencil lead. To this present day Yard O Led continues its traditions of craftsmanship with its current range of fountain pens, ballpoint and roller ball pens and of course pencils. In their workshop in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter each writing instrument is handcrafted using traditional metalworking techniques, individually numbered and comes with a lifetime guarantee.
